I have been doing so much traveling this year! First, myself and a few friends drove to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, after that I went to New York for The S.GARVEY Fall/Winter 2017 Runway Production, and recently I flew to Miami for my good friend’s wedding ceremony. Traveling more was one of my goals for 2017, and I’m not even done. While each trip was major, the one to New York was for Samantha’s debut fashion production. The production was nothing short of amazing. With 17 looks, my friend and favorite designer put on a show for the Gods. Why The Caged Bird Sings Runway Production took place in March of this year, while I am a little late with this post, I thought I should remind everyone of how chic it really was.
The theme of the collection was based around the fashions and events from the 1920’s through the 1950’s. The beautiful garments along with the decor of the event space had all the attendees thinking they were in a theater about to watch Josephine Baker perform. Which they kind of did watch her perform, aside from the amazing band playing, a young lady costumed in a banana skirt did an reenactment of the Danse sauvage, the exotic dance performed by Josephine Baker in the late 20’s. After helping out backstage, my best friend and I took our seats just as the first model was about to walk out. Even though there were so many amazing looks from the show, I decided to include photos of my favorite looks. I narrowed it down to 5 looks, which was really hard. Enjoy!
Alright, so I decided to include my top 7 looks, instead of 5. In the end the show was amazing, the models looked beautiful and they did a great job seeing Samantha’s vision through. Aren’t you ready for the next S.Garvey Presents……fashion production?
